how to get around

UBER / LYFT :

One thing to keep in mind when booking an Uber in Paris is that traffic can be quite congested during peak hours. It's always a good idea to give yourself plenty of time for travel, especially if you're trying to make it to a specific appointment or event. Additionally, some areas of Paris may have restricted vehicle access at certain times of the day or night, so be sure to check with your driver ahead of time.

Taxi :

Get an idea of what the fare should be before getting in the taxi. It’s best to use Google Maps on the ride to make sure you’re going in the right direction. The meter starts at €2,30 and goes up to €4,10. There is also a surcharge for luggage or extra passengers up to €4,40, so it's best to have everything ready before you leave for your journey.

Subway :

Taking the metro in Paris is an easy way to get around the city. The Paris Metro uses three main lines: the yellow line, that runs from Châtelet-Les Halles to Bastille, and then on to Montparnasse and Montmartre, the blue line, that runs from Château de Vincennes to Porte d'Auteuil and then on to Denfert-Rochereau and the green line, that runs from Place d'Italie (Place d’Italie) to La Motte-Picquet Grenelle and then to La Défense.

A single ticket for zones 1 and 2 costs 1.90€.

A great idea is to buy a Carnet of 10 tickets for 14.50€. These can be used throughout your stay with no expiration date.

There is even a Paris Pass that includes subway fairs, attractions and even an App to guide you through the city.
